Non-Traditional Licensure Program

Program Description

The two-year preparation program includes:

  • Instructional Modules – Three weeks in summer and monthly Saturdays (for two years)
  • Mentoring – Pathwise® certified mentors for both years
  • Assessments – Pre and post tests for modules
  • Teaching – As teacher-of-record with full teacher salary and benefits
  • Portfolio development – Reflection on practice

Modules

  • Summer modules for three weeks offered in late June to early August, depending upon site
  • Participants attend summer modules in both Year 1 and Year 2
  • Summer modules held Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Participants are assigned to site closest to their geographic location
  • Seven additional Saturday modules through the school year (September to April)
  • Attendance at all modules is mandatory and takes precedence over school events
  • Program cost of $1200 per year covers instruction, books and materials.
