Pedagogy Exam or Principles of Learning and Teaching

In addition to passing the Praxis II Content Area exam(s), specific pedagogy exams are required for Initial Licensure in Arkansas.  While some license areas require the PLT; others require a specific content pedagogy test.  These assessments are subject-specific and not interchangeable.  They are related to the age group of the children taught and/or the subject area for the license sought by the teacher.  All teachers are to take the SPECIFIC exam that is appropriate for the level and the subject being taught.  Click here to see a table demonstrating the appropriate License-Specific PLT or Pedagogy tests for Arkansas Licensure to be taken for each license area.

DO NOT take the wrong test. If you have registered for the wrong test, contact Educational Testing Service
(1-800-772-9476) to make the appropriate changes.

When registering through ETS on the website or re-registering by telephone PLEASE make sure you are viewing or referring to the testing requirements specifically for the state of Arkansas.
