Step 1: Preparing for Admission

Click Here to see a very important announcement regarding Praxis Testing.

Praxis I: Basic Skills Assessment - (Pre-Professional Skills Test or PPST)

To be eligible to enter the NTLP applicants:

  • Must successfully complete the Praxis I (PPST): Basic Skills exam prior to admission.
  • Are strongly advised to take the computer-based version of the Praxis I (PPST).

Computer-based testing (CBT) registration is made by appointment at over 300 Prometric test sites throughout the United States. To schedule an appointment:

  • Call Prometric Candidate Services Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Eastern Time (New York), (excluding holidays) at 1-800-853-6773, 1-443-751-4859. If you are deaf or hearing impaired and use a TTY, call 800-529-3590 to schedule an appointment.
  • Call the computer-based testing center directly. Click here to see a list of available Computer-Based Testing centers in Arkansas.

Once the test taker has completed the exam the unofficial results of the Reading and Math scores are immediately available. The Writing score will be available in approximately 2-3 weeks when the official score report will be mailed to the test taker.
