IMPORTANT: AS OF 9/1/2007 the Early Childhood test requirement changed to the Praxis II: 022: Early Childhood: Content Knowledge exam. If the Praxis II: 021: Education of Young Children test was taken and passed (164 or higher) BEFORE 9/1/2007, then that test score will be acceptable to enter the NTL program for the 08-09 year.
In addition to taking and passing the required Praxis I: Basic Skills and Praxis II: 022 exam those licensing in the area of Early Childhood must also complete REQUIRED ADDITIONAL COURSEWORK.
NOTE: The Praxis II: Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT) or license specific Pedagogy exam is the SECOND PART of the Praxis II series and should be taken in the NTL teachers first semester of the SECOND YEAR in the program. The PLT or license specific Pedagogy exam is the required exit exam for the program. The NTL teacher is responsible for assuring that they register for and take the appropriate exam.
